Ironman Challenge Expert
One save. No reloads. Every mistake is permanent — and that is the entire point.
Play with no save-scumming — accept every loss, every lost character, and every consequence as final.
The Rules
An ironman run forbids reloading to undo outcomes. Every defeat, capture, lost limb and lost character is permanent and must be played through.
How It Changes The Game
Without reloads, caution becomes everything. Retreat, scouting and conservative play matter far more — there is no taking back a bad decision.
Surviving It
Keep a squad rather than a solo character so a single loss is not fatal to the run. Build deep, play patient, and treat every fight as if it counts — because it does.
Why Play This Way
Ironman is how Kenshi was arguably designed to be played. Permanent consequences make the "fail forward" philosophy real — your story is whatever actually happened.
