Injury Recovery Guide Beginner
In Kenshi you do not die from the hit. You die from what you do in the hour after it.
Treat wounds fast, get downed characters to safety, manage blood loss, and use beds and medics to recover properly.
Wounds & Blood Loss
Damage leaves wounds that bleed. Untreated bleeding can kill a character who survived the fight itself. Apply first aid quickly with bandages or a medic.
Downed Characters
A knocked-out character is not dead — but they are vulnerable to predators and slavers. Get them to safety, ideally a bed in a town or base, before enemies return.
Healing Properly
Rest in beds speeds recovery, and a high-Field-Medic character heals the squad faster. Robotic characters need Repair Kits and the Robotics skill instead.
Common Mistakes
Ignoring bleeding, leaving downed characters in the open, and pushing a half-healed squad straight back into danger. Recovery is part of the fight.
