Smuggling Guide Intermediate

Smuggling Guide — Kenshi Survival Guides reference image

Smuggling pays because someone made the goods illegal. That someone also runs the guards.

Move contraband past faction inspections using stealth, hidden inventory pockets and routes that avoid patrols.

What Counts As Contraband

Some goods — drugs especially — are illegal in certain factions' territory. Carrying them through inspections risks fines, bounties or worse.

Beating Inspections

Higher Stealth and Thievery skills, smuggler's gear with hidden pockets, and travelling at night all reduce the chance contraband is found during a search.

Route Planning

Plan routes that minimise faction inspections — skirt patrols, use night travel, and sell into independent or grey-market towns like Shark and Flats Lagoon.

Risks

Getting caught damages faction reputation and can land a bounty. Smuggling is profitable but it is an outlaw's income — treat the risk as part of the price.

Wanderer's Note

“Skeletons ignore hunger, sleep and acid rain. They are the wasteland’s explorers.”
