Sabres
If you do not know what weapon a character should carry, the answer is a sabre. It is the wasteland's safe default.
Class Overview
Sabres are versatile mid-weight blades balancing cutting damage, speed and reach. They are the most all-round weapon class and suit almost any fighter.
Damage & Penetration
Sabres deal reliable cutting damage with moderate armour penetration — not specialised, but never useless.
Speed, Weight & Indoors
Moderate weight and speed, with good reach and only a mild indoor penalty. Comfortable in nearly every fight.
Best & Worst Situations
Best as a general-purpose weapon for new and flexible characters. Worst only when a specialist is needed — heavy armour wants a heavy weapon, soft targets want a katana.
Quality Tiers
Sabres scale to Meitou. The Desert Sabre and the Holy Sabre are notable sabre-class weapons; a Meitou sabre is an excellent all-purpose blade.
