Helmets

The head is a small target and a catastrophic place to lose. A helmet is cheap insurance against an expensive death.

Head protection that guards your most fragile and most important hit location.

Wanderer's TipNever field a character with no headgear. Even a cheap helmet meaningfully cuts the chance of a sudden knockout.

Overview

Helmets and masks protect the head — a location that, when badly damaged, knocks a character out or kills them quickly.

Why They Matter

Head hits are dangerous out of proportion to their frequency. A solid helmet converts a potentially fatal head wound into something survivable.

Trade-offs

Heavier helmets protect more but can reduce perception and combat skills slightly. Lighter masks protect less but barely penalise — match the helmet to the build.

Who Should Wear One

Everyone, ideally. Even speed builds benefit from a light helmet or mask. The head is never a location to leave bare.

Wanderer's Note

“Never travel with a single character. A second body can drag the first to safety.”
