Copper Mining Beginner

Copper Mining — Kenshi Survival Guides reference image

Copper is the wasteland's starter wage — slow, dull, and exactly what a broke squad needs.

Mine copper near a safe town, sell it to local vendors, and use the income to recruit and equip your first squad.

Why Copper

Copper nodes are common, the work needs no skill or capital, and it is safe near towns. It is the reliable first income for almost every new squad.

Where To Mine

Mine near guarded towns — the Hub and Squin both sit on workable copper. Staying close to guards keeps the work safe from bandits.

Selling It

Sell raw copper to town vendors. Prices are modest, so mine in bulk; a pack animal lets you haul far more per trip.

When To Move On

Copper mining is a starter job, not a career. Once you have a squad and gear, graduate to trade routes, production or bounties — the income scales far better.

Wanderer's Note

“Toughness is trained by losing. Get downed where guards will save you, then heal and repeat.”
