The Slave Traders Hostile
Death in Kenshi is a setback. Capture by the Slave Traders is a second game, played from a cage.
The slaving arm of the United Cities economy. They want you alive — which is worse than wanting you dead.
Overview
The Slave Traders capture, transport and sell people across United Cities territory, supplying labour to mines and noble estates. They are closely tied to the UC and despised by the Anti-Slavers.
Gameplay Impact
If your character is knocked out by slavers — or arrested in UC land while wanted — you can be enslaved rather than killed. You wake in a slave camp, collared, forced to work, and must escape.
This is not always a disaster. Enslavement is a viable, deliberate way to train Athletics, Labouring and Toughness while plotting a breakout.
Joining & Reputation
You can technically work with slavers, but it tanks Anti-Slaver and Shek standing. Most players treat them purely as enemies.
Military Strength
Slaver patrols are armed and use harpoon weapons to drag down runners. They are mid-tier fighters whose real weapon is the collar and the cage.
Best Uses
Best for: a dramatic escaped-slave origin story, or harvesting bounties for the Anti-Slaver cause.
